Our Mission:

The Connecticut Bluegrass Music Association is a non-profit organization dedicated to the education, preservation, and evolution of Bluegrass music.  Our goal is to promote Bluegrass music through the underwriting of live performances and educational projects - such as bringing our "Bluegrass In The Schools & Libraries" presentation to local libraries and the music curriculums of schools throughout the state. We also look forward to working with other Bluegrass and acoustic music associations, artists, radio stations, and record companies.

CTBMA also sponsors occasional summer concerts in the Salem Valley Barn. A woodland setting in Salem, CT offering a unique performance opportunity to the traveling artist, with 100% of the gate going to the artist.

We want to provide the Bluegrass audience with top quality shows: great music, great sound, great setting, and
a helpful staff of volunteers to make the experience the best it can be for every audience member. Please let us know if you have any suggestions for future activities, collaborations...anything that falls within the scope of our official mission.

CTBMA was founded in 2000 and is registered  in the State of Connecticut as a non-membership, non-profit corporation .  Its sole members are its president, Kim Cyr, and a Board of Directors.  All CTBMA activities are staffed exclusively by volunteers. All funding comes from donations, sales of tickets and refreshments, and sponsorship arrangements with local businesses and organizations.

CTBMA is non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation of Bluegrass history
and to help ensure the future of Bluegrass Music.
